Saturn and Neptune both signal imminent changes in the days and moments ahead. In but hours Neptune immigrates from Aquarius into Pisces and within three days Saturn swings about to march backward for months to come.
Given that Saturn is Saturn and renders the awe, borderline fear that he does, it makes sense to deal with his retrogradation first. He turns about on February 7th, where he’ll make strides of review, reconsideration, enhancement and even spiritual capitulation - you know, where a person realizes they cannot jump outside the bounds of gravity and deals with it. Saturn remains back stepping until June 25th.
Realizing that Mars and Saturn - planets known for mundane impact - will be retrograde until mid-April, this might at a glance seem to be ominous news for progress in matters of the world. That’s not an entirely correct assumption and some appeal will be rendered to Neptune shortly for assistance in the assumption-frustration-feeling debilitated department. Two key dates appear in the months ahead that offer fantastic windows of opportunity for advancing real world causes.
The first appears as Mars aligns with the Earth on the 3rd of March. This date renders grease to the stuck gears of real world progress. Here, almost magically, resistence to reformation and inertia opposing inspiration lift, opening a window that extends perhaps a day either side of the alignment. Those prepared and ready to launch benefit.
As any planet does in the virtual midpoint of its retrograde interval, Saturn aligns with the Earth on April 15th, one day after Mars resumes prograde motion. This may feel like it did in the olden days when a driver had to get out and lock the wheels of a four-wheel drive vehicle in place. At this point in mid-April, the wheels suitable to the challenging terrain ahead are set in place and those willing to drive onto a precarious precipice and adventure into the unknown with prudence, persistence and purpose reap the first solid steps of reward and substantial gain toward goals - whether of the real world or shifting consciousness in the innermost workings of the psyche.
Should one feel overwhelmed by impossibility and the lack of fairness and compassion in the world out there, take a moment to feel the recent alignment - from the Sun’s point of view - of Uranus to the aphelion of the dwarf planet 225088. This planet, colloquially called snow white - a misnomer for the red colored planet - bears a north node in Pisces and perihelion in Libra. The combination suggests a global quest for fairness, sensitivity and compassion for the downtrodden, whether the misfortune is a temporary patch or a long term set of circumstances or a lifelong lot. With the jolt of Uranus to the “step-back-and-think-about-it-first” most-distant orbital point from the Sun - it’s a great time to reflect upon changes implemented without sufficient forethought.
Consider the rapid and fervent protests in the United States against the Susan G. Komen Foundation - a cancer research organization - that suspended support to Planned Parenthood once an individual with an ax to grind against abortion services joined the organization and established a presumably politically pressured campaign demanding that funding to Planned Parenthood be cut. Within days of the pubic announcement of this policy, the foundation announced this morning that it would not cut off funds to Planned Parenthood as previously announced.
As well, the effort to squash unions in the United States accelerate in Arizona and Indiana, where legislators made the silly move of passing anti-union legislation days before the eyes of the world are on Indiana for the Super Bowl. It should be interesting, given the Super Bowl two days after Neptune enters Pisces, an indicator that we’re all souls on a planet of tough mundane soul schooling and all in it together. And the game is but one day before Saturn’s turn about in Libra, stressing, which could be assumed to stress “turn about is fair play.” Surely Saturn queries, “Are you sure that’s the way you want the concrete to harden?”
Within hours and no doubt before many of you have a chance to read this post, Neptune will have entered Pisces. Neptune swims through his natural oceans unabated until March 30, 2025.
With a planet in the sign it rules things are assumed - perhaps incorrectly - to be easier. Certainly the essence of the planet and the qualities of the sign receive exponential magnification. Collectively, we can hope for care of the planet’s seas and oceans. We can aspire for concern for all people, not isolated economic groups, specific religions and spiritual affiliations or exclusion by race. Let us remember that Neptune is slowly working his way to catch up with the planet who simply despises isolation, and he is closing in and the effort should be consciously recognized now. Sorry to say, the exactitude of this will be a legacy passed to our offspring (the Neptune conjunct Eris era will be 2038 - 2039), but realizing the import of Neptune in Pisces, and accepting the astrological significance of Eris and planet 225088 places solid bricks in the foundation of healing the planet and establishing an evolutionary course for humankind.
Personally, as Neptune passes through Pisces and aspects your natal planets through any angle, perceive the signals for a need to create a healthy vision for personal participation on the planet (you know: thinking and being green), to reset your spirituality, and to establish a willingness to realize your dot on the distribution plot of human consciousness and accept the positions of the dots of others. As well, Neptune in Pisces, demands a diminishment of underdog thinking as applied to your goals, creative talents and sense of worth. The lord of the seas insists upon a complete acceptance of creative gifts granted you during this incarnation, and he demands thorough dedication to the use of those gifts. Holding the belief that your talent is no big thing, or can be done by almost anyone, serves no furthering of the soul’s path in this incarnation.
Bottom line, focus upon your creative resources and reserves and open the floodgates to foster all the fecundity of your being.
